Passing Down the Farm

The Internet: Your Bridge to Success as a Family Farm!

We wrote "Passing Down the Farm, the OTHER Farm Crisis", based on my experiences helping farm families plan for the future of their farm.

The book is packed with universal truths about relationships and the need to take charge of the activities that surround planning for the future of the farm. It remains a favorite of farmers and their advisors to this day.

One thing we could have never imagined was that a powerful tool would come along that levels the playing field as nothing before it. The Internet provides an exciting additional alternative for the family farm and other family businesses, to leverage their organization for savings and profit - growing the bottom line, to aide in succession to the next generation.

I spent 11/2 years preparing for this presentation, by working with a commercial web site hosting company that was a pioneer in helping businesses take advantage of the Internet. I learned how you can use this technology to help your family farm survive and succeed.

What I learned motivated me to combine my experiences with and understanding of farms and agri-businesses like yours and my new found knowledge of the role of the Internet to launch a company to help you take advantage of this new medium for doing business.

I recruited experts in design, software development, and journalism to launch iBizResources.com the only web site and newsletter devoted to helping established Main Street companies like yours.

There is an expression, everything leads to everything else. Every experience I have had with business owners over the last 25 years lead me to my message about the importance of the Internet to your business. It is also based on the actual experiences of hundreds of established mainstream businesses I have helped with their online strategies since 1997. Below is an outline of a presentation that can be customized for your group - from a keynote presentation to a day long seminar.

My presentation provides a powerful yet simple approach to understanding the role of the Internet and your agri-business. It makes a complex subject understandable and usable.

Unlike other aspects of your operation, you only need to know what the Internet can do for you, not how it does it. Like me with my car - I just want to know how to drive it, not what makes it work. My presentation shows you how (and why) to determine what you can and should be doing about the Internet, based on your goals for your business.

Over the years, working with hundreds of business owners, I have fine-tuned the skills of creating real communication. This helped us understand how to write two books and dozens of articles on the management issues business owners face daily.

Using humor and real life stories - I help audiences identify the factors necessary for their on-line success. Audiences are always entertained, informed, and motivated to action while, the sponsoring organization provides a value added service to its members.

Each presentation is customized to meet the objectives of the sponsoring organization and provide relevant information to the business owners in the audience.
